Rain ruined the first two full days of the Kanpur Test, but KL Rahul shared the captain Rohit Sharma’s message that spurred Team India’s attacking comeback.

The Indian cricket team overcame adversity to put themselves in a position to win the second Test against Bangladesh. The Kanpur Test was rained out for more than two and a half days due to rain and a sloppy outfield, but Rohit Sharma’s team chose to battle rather than let the match end in a tie. After India bowled out Bangladesh on Day 4, Rohit spearheaded India’s offensive start with the bat, spraying boundaries at Green Park Stadium. Later, KL Rahul revealed a clear message from skipper Rohit that motivated the team’s bat-swinging techniques. On Day 4, Team India scored 285/9 before Rohit declared the innings. En route, India also broke the records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 points. Rohit and Jaiswal also made history together, scoring the quickest 50-run partnership in Test history.

“The message was crystal obvious from the beginning. We missed a few days due to rain. The majority of the game was lost due to weather, but we wanted to see what we could achieve with the time remaining. “The plan was simple: find a way to win,” Rahul explained.”We lost a couple of wickets, but since Rohit’s message was so clear that it didn’t matter if we got out, we tried to do that.”
Day 5 saw India stick to a similar offensive strategy with the ball in the second innings. The hosts bowled out Bangladesh for 146 in the second innings thanks to three wickets apiece from Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India took control of the match and won it, needing just 95 runs to complete the series 2-0 at Kanpur, despite the fact that the game was abandoned for more than two days. The hosts’ aspirations of making the WTC final were further enhanced when they eventually prevailed by 7 wickets.
