After leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the previous season, the 51-year-old has been unemployed. He replaces Englishman Gareth Southgate as permanent coach, making him the third foreign manager of the Three Lions, following Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello. The FA is looking to Tuchel, a former coach of Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, to help break a 58-year wait to win a major competition. Tuchel has a trophy-winning background. However, the FA’s reluctance to give an Englishman its top role has garnered criticism for the move. After league games, the team captained by Irfan Pathan came in second on the points table. The team won three of the seven games they played in the group stage. Konarks faced Toyam Hyderabad in Qualifier 2, winning by a slim margin of one run, and making their way to the finals in style after losing Qualifier 1 to the same team. He won league titles at PSG, Bayern, and Dortmund in addition to the German Cup.
In 2021, he won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the London club, and he led the Blues to Champions League victory a few months after taking the helm.
A risky early decision by Chelsea’s new ownership group that did not work out was the dismissal of Tuchel in September 2022.He takes over as Southgate’s permanent replacement. Under his direction, the Three Lions advanced to consecutive European Championship finals, a World Cup semifinal, and a quarterfinal in his four major championships.
However, since winning the World Cup on home soil in 1966, England has not yet been victorious in a significant men’s competition.
