Next year, Mohammad Rizwan wants Rohit Sharma and company to go to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Muhammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s recently chosen ODI and T20I captain, has spoken out about the ongoing stalemate over the ICC Champions Trophy venue. Since it is unlikely that the Indian squad will be permitted to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called for other options. There is still no resolution to the issue, despite the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other cricket stakeholders doing everything in their power to keep the tournament from leaving the nation.

In a message to the Indian squad, Rizwan, who took Babar Azam’s place as Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, requested that they come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

“The Indian squad playing in Pakistan will excite the fans here, who adore Indian cricket players. On the topic, Rizwan stated, “We will welcome them if they come.”

India’s trip to Pakistan for the major event is still uncertain. India has not participated in any cricket competitions in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup because of the hostile relations between the two countries as a result of terrorism.

The final bilateral series between the two countries was place in India from December 2012 to January 2013. Since then, their only meetings have been at the Asia Cup and ICC competitions. However, after the 2008 Asia Cup, Pakistan has made three trips to India.
