Now that they have secured their five-cap player limit before to the auction, SRH has strengthened the core group that helped them reach the IPL 2024 final.From their total purse of INR 120 crore, the sum of these retentions will be subtracted by INR 75 crore. Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 crore), Pat Cummins (INR 18 crore), and Abhishek Sharma (INR 14 crore) had previously been announced to be retained by SRH. They can now perhaps re-sign one of their uncapped players during the auction by using a right-to-match card.
The ten IPL teams have till October 31 to turn in their lists of retained players. Prior to the 2025 season’s massive auction, each team may keep up to six players, including a maximum of five capped internationals and two uncapped players.
Franchises are free to pay their kept players more than the minimum amounts set by the IPL, even though each retained player has a minimum deduction from the auction proceeds.

The 21-year-old Nitish Kumar Reddy’s value has significantly increased from the INR 20 lakh he was first purchased for in 2023. With 303 runs at a strike rate of 143 and three wickets taken, Reddy won the title of Emerging Player of the Year in the 2024 Indian Premier League. Reddy made his international debut in the October home Twenty20 Internationals against Bangladesh, after being sidelined by injury during India’s T20I series in Zimbabwe. Beginning on October 31, he will travel to Australia with the India A team for two four-day matches.
