Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crore), Virat Kohli, and Yash Dayal (INR 5 crore), an uncapped left-arm fast bowler, were all kept by the RCB.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept three players, including Virat Kohli. Although it was in line with expectations, his maintained price attracted attention. For Rs 21 crore, the former RCB skipper was kept on board. Prior to IPL 2025, the other two were uncapped left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal (INR 5 crore) and top-order batsman Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crore). All-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Will Jacks, quick bowler Mohammed Siraj, and captain Faf du Plessis were all cut by RCB. Kohli’s retention for Rs 21 crore is a significant first.

The IPL’s first Indian player to earn more than Rs 20 crore is Virat Kohli. Prior to this, Pat Cummins (Rs 20.50 crore) and Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore) from Australia also exceeded the Rs 20 crore threshold.

“I was kept on for the three-year cycle that begins the following year. I’m thrilled. The bond between them has been unique and is only getting stronger. At the end of the cycle, 20 years will have passed. That’s a unique feeling in itself. Kohli stated in a video, “I never imagined that I would play for one team for so many years.”The first Indian player to earn above Rs 20 crore in the IPL is Virat Kohli. Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore) and Pat Cummins (Rs 20.50 crore) from Australia have previously crossed the Rs 20 crore threshold.

“I have been hired for the three-year cycle that begins the next year. I am quite thrilled. It’s been a unique relationship that keeps getting stronger. It will be 20 years by the end of the cycle. That’s a unique emotion in and of itself. In a video, Kohli stated, “I never imagined that I would play for one team for so long.”

As we prepare for the 2025 Indian Premier League season, we recognize the need of building a solid Indian core for our squad, and we believe that our retention choices represent a major step in the right direction. It’s wonderful to carry on Virat’s long relationship with RCB, and I have no doubt that a new crop of players will gain a great deal from his contagious enthusiasm, dedication to excellence, and inspirational style,” said Mo Bobat, RCB’s Director of Cricket.
. The addition of Rajat and Yash, two outstanding players with comparatively special talents, is also fantastic. As a player without a cap, Yash also has exceptional price value.

“Given the depth of relationships formed and the numerous accomplishments and memories shared, it’s always sad to release players. I wish all departing players well.” As for us, we have managed to retain top Indian personnel, and we are starting to prepare for the auction with a strong available purse and options and flexibility with our three remaining RTMs. It ought to be enjoyable! Bobat was added.
