Wriddhiman Saha, one of India’s greatest wicketkeepers ever, is scheduled to retire from all facets of cricket.

Wriddhiman Saha, one of India’s greatest wicketkeepers ever, has declared his intention to stay out of cricket altogether. After the current Ranji Trophy campaign, Saha stated in a social media post that his cricketing career would come to an end. Despite his happiness at playing for Bengal for “one last time,” Saha intends to retire at the end of the current campaign. On the basis of his pure keeping abilities, Saha is arguably the best wicketkeeper India has had in recent memory. However, it has been stated that he has no plans to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.”It will be my final season in cricket after a treasured trip. Saha stated on X (previously Twitter): “It is a privilege to play for Bengal one more time, only in the Ranji Trophy before I retire. “Thank you to everyone who has shared in this amazing journey; your encouragement has been invaluable. This season should be one to remember.

This will be my final season of cricket after a valued journey. Before I retire, I will play in the Ranji Trophy, and it is an honor to represent Bengal one last time. Come on, let’s make this season exceptional!

Before being released from the Central Contracts in 2023, Saha was often included in Team India’s Test plans, particularly at home. He has not returned to the Test side since his release.

According to a Sportstar article, Saha plans to avoid playing the game in any capacity, including the IPL. He hasn’t even registered for the impending mega auction, which is scheduled for later this month, according to reports. Although Saha has not yet made his position on IPL participation official, rumors indicate that his time with the Gujarat Titans in the 2024 IPL was his final season in the T20 tournament.Ahead of the IPL 2025 major auction, GT decided not to keep Saha. He has played in every season from the league’s first season in 2008, making him one of the few players still in the league.

The veteran wicketkeeper has played for the Gujarat Titans (GT), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in his career.
