Arjun Tendulkar took his first five wickets in First Class cricket a few days after being released by the Mumbai Indians, helping Arunachal Pradesh be bowled out for 84.

In Wednesday’s Ranji Trophy plate match against Arunachal Pradesh, Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the renowned Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, has put Goa in a dominant position. On the first day of First Class cricket, Arjun took his first five wickets when Goa knocked Arunachal Pradesh out for 84. Neelam Obi, Nabam Hachang, Chinmay Patil, Jay Bhavsar, and Moji Ete were dismissed after he returned numbers of 5/25. Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Pinto (2/31) provided the 25-year-old with good support as Arunachal Pradesh’s innings ended in 30.3 overs. With the dismissal of Hachang (0) in the second over of the game, Tendulkar got things going. In the 12th over, he had dismissed Obi and Bhavsar off successive deliveries, giving him a hat-trick.

Prior to Redkar and Pinto joining the group and cleaning Arunachal’s tail, his last two victims were Patil and Ete.

Arjun’s actions follow the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) decision to cut him for the 2025 IPL.

It is highly probable that Arjun would participate in the IPL 2025 super auction.

Arjun prepared for the next first-class season by taking nine wickets in Goa’s innings and defeating hosts Karnataka by 189 runs at the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, also called the KSCA Invitational, a preseason competition for state teams.Nikin Jose and glovesman Sharath Srinivas were the only two well-known names in the playing XI, with the majority of the KSCA XI consisting of its U-19 and U-23 players.

The son of the renowned Sachin Tendulkar finished the match with a 9 for 87 total in 26.3 overs over two innings. In the first innings, Tendulkar junior took 5/41 in 13 overs as Karnataka collapsed for 103 in 36.5 overs.

Manthan Khutkar hit 69 and Abhinav Tejrana (109) got a hundred as Goa responded with a strong 413.

A little better, the KSCA XI was dismissed for 121 in 30.4 overs in the second innings, with Arjun taking 4 for 46 in 13.3 overs.
