Prior to withdrawing from a crucial final match in Sydney, Rohit Sharma has struggled in his three Test matches.

The fifth India vs. Australia Test was skipped by Rohit Sharma, which sparked intense conjecture about whether or not the captain’s Test career was gone. Rohit’s poor performance in the three Test matches he played guaranteed that he would be dropped from a crucial final match in Sydney. But Rohit stated in an interview on the second day of the fifth Test match in Sydney that he simply “stood down” and was not quitting the game.

But now, a source has revealed some intriguing facts about what might have transpired in the Indian dressing room following the fourth Test, which began on Boxing Day in Melbourne. ‘Well-wishers’ reportedly tried to stop Rohit Sharma from resigning after the Test.

“After MCG, Rohit had already made up his mind. “We could have seen another retirement in Australia if his well-wishers from the outside hadn’t forced him to change his mind,” a Times of India newspaper cited a source as saying.

According to the report, coach Gautam Gambhir was not pleased with Rohit’s choice to reverse his retirement decision.Regarding Rohit’s spot in the starting lineup, Gambhir had been hesitant prior to the Sydney Test.

Rohit, on his part, had shown courage in the Sydney Test. No one from the outside can tell when he will hand over his footwear, he had stated.

“What will occur in five months is not something I believe in. I want to be in the here and now. Retirement is not the decision here. There is no way I will leave the game. However, I am out for this game because I am not using my bat to score. After five months, there’s no assurance that I won’t score runs. Every day is a new day. When Rohit talked about his future, he replied, “I believe in myself.””At the same time I have to be realistic as well. I have played this game for so long. Nobody from outside can decide when I should go, or sit out or lead the team. I am a sensible, matured, father of two. I know what I want in life,” he continued.
