Kohli received recognition for reaching the milestone of 100 Test matches for India, which he accomplished at Mohali in March 2022 against Sri Lanka.
Following the second day of play in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) presented Virat Kohli with a felicitation.In March 2022, Kohli defeated Sri Lanka at Mohali to reach the milestone of 100 Test matches for India. DDCA president Rohan Jaitley gave the 36-year-old a scarf and a souvenir.
Fast bowler Ishant Sharma (105), opening batsman Virender Sehwag (104), and Kohli are the only three Delhi players who have played 100 or more Test matches for India.Having not participated in India’s top domestic First-Class competition since November 2012, Kohli is currently playing in his first Ranji Trophy in nearly 13 years.
However, bowler Himanshu Sangwan clean bowled Kohli for just six runs, unable to live up to the excitement of the moment.
Delhi rallied to lead Railways by 93 runs at the end of the day at 334 for seven. With a score of 99, its captain Ayush Badoni came very close to reaching a century, while Sumit Mathur was still undefeated at 78.
