PTI cited Sharif as stating, “The whole country is behind them.”

Additionally, Sharif stated that because Pakistan last co-hosted the ODI World Cup in 1996 alongside India and Sri Lanka, it will be a significant occasion for them to host an ICC event after 29 years.”Holding a major ICC event after almost 29 years is a significant milestone for Pakistan. He continued, “I am completely confident that our team will continue to represent the country with pride in the upcoming Champions Trophy.”

Pakistan is the reigning victors Trophy victors, having defeated India by an overwhelming 180-run margin in the tournament’s most recent final. The co-hosts will therefore bring some positive memories with them to the competition.
