On February 14, RCB takes on the Gujarat Giants to start their season, while the next day, MI takes on the Delhi Capitals, two-time finalists.
Due to injury, Asha Sobhana and Pooja Vastrakar, both India internationals, will miss the Women’s Premier League season in 2025. On Thursday, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians announced their replacements. To replace the injured players, RCB and MI have selected Nuzhat Parween and Parunika Sisodia, respectively.
Railways wicketkeeper Parween, who has played for India in five Twenty20 Internationals, will join RCB for a base salary of Rs. 30 lakh.
During the first league season, Parunika was selected by the Gujarat Giants. During the just finished ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup, the left arm spinner made significant contributions and was named the “Player of the Match” in the semifinal match against England. It costs her INR 10 lakh to join MI.With 12 wickets taken in the previous season, Asha was the tournament’s second-highest wicket-taker, therefore this is a major setback to the Challengers’ title defense. The Keralan leggie sustained a knee injury while competing in the Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
The Gujarat Giants will be the first opponent for RCB on February 14, and MI will play the Delhi Capitals, two-time finalists, the next day.
