Before the ICC Champions Trophy began, it was impossible to see India’s flag at the National Stadium in Karachi. However, it appears that the PCB has corrected its error.
A few days after the absence of India’s apartment from Karachi’s National Stadium before the ICC Champions Trophy began caused a stir, it appears that things have been resolved. The most recent images from the venue that have been circulated on social media show India’s flag with that of the other Champions Trophy-winning countries. A few days before the event began, India’s flag was absent from the National Stadium, sparking a lot of conjecture. But now everything appears to be fine.
After fans took to social media to express their disapproval at Pakistan’s unwillingness to fly the Indian flag at its stadiums, the PCB dismissed the controversy, claiming that only the stadiums have raised the banners of the nations participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
“As you know, India is not coming to Pakistan to play its matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025; the National Stadium in Karachi, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore have hoisted flags of countries that are going to play at the said venues,” according to a PCB source who was quoted by IANS on Wednesday. The insider responded, “The Indian team is going to play its matches in Dubai,” when questioned why the flags of Bangladesh, India, and other participating nations were absent from the stadiums in Karachi and Lahore. Second, the squad from Bangladesh has not yet reached Pakistan and will play its first game in Dubai against India. As a result, their flags have not been raised, whereas the flags of the other countries that have come to play in Pakistan are shown at the stadium.”
In response to the dispute, the vice-chairman of the BCCI stated that the Pakistan board must first verify whether or not the Indian flag was present at first. It ought to have been placed if it wasn’t.
“First, the presence or absence of the Indian flag should be verified. It ought to have been placed if it wasn’t already there. On the sidelines of the Restaurant Cricket League in Delhi on Tuesday, Rajeev Shukla told Livemint, “The flags of all the participating nations should have been there.”
