Gujarat Giants crushed UP Warriorz by 81 runs, led by Beth Mooney, who hit an undefeated 96.
On Monday, the Gujarat Giants easily defeated the UP Warriorz by 81 runs in a lopsided Women’s Premier League encounter. The most impressive performance was that of Beth Mooney, who led the Gujarat Giants to a dominant score with an outstanding unbeaten innings of 96.
Although Mooney was unable to get what would have been the first century for any player in WPL season, her 59-ball undefeated knock with 17 fours helped the Gujarat Giants to a commanding 186/5, against which the hosts easily fell apart.
UPW only managed to score 105 runs from 17.1 overs while chasing a target of 187, as the Giants moved up from fifth to second place in the standings. Before the game, UPW was ranked third; today, they are in fifth position.After a terrible start, UP Warriorz fell to 36/5 in the eighth over, and not a single one of their batsmen could stand up to the Giants’ bowlers, who decimated an undermanned batting order.

Although Uma Chetry struck 17 and Chinelle Henry scored a late 14-ball 28 with three fours and two sixes, their efforts were only partially successful in narrowing the scoring difference.Earlier, the Gujarat Giants scored 186 for five, leaving Mooney stranded at 96 not out.
