In 2019, Quetta Gladiators won their first and only PSL championship under Safaraz Ahmed.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain of the Quetta Gladiators (QG), the 2019 Pakistan Super League (PSL) winners, has been appointed team director for the 2025 campaign. He was fired last year after joining the Gladiators at the beginning of the competition in 2016. Another player who failed to sell at the PSL 10 auction was the wicketkeeper. Despite not having made an announcement about his retirement, Sarfaraz’s appointment as team director essentially means that he will no longer play.

Sarfaraz will collaborate with Moin Khan, the head coach of QG for the PSL and another wicketkeeper and former Pakistani captain. He will also work with Shaun Tait, a former fast bowling coach for Pakistan.Sarfaraz should have no trouble succeeding in his role as team director because he has experience working with both. The 37-year-old and captain Saud Shakeel have played together for Pakistan and in domestic cricket, but they haven’t played together in the PSL.

“I’d like to introduce Sarfaraz as the Quetta Gladiators’ team director today. As captain, Sarfaraz did a great job leading QG, and I hope he will continue to do so as director. We would benefit much from having Sarfaraz as team director and Moin Khan as head coach, Omar Nadeem stated.

Sarfaraz should be a wonderful fit as the team director for the Quetta Gladiators because he has been an excellent server for QG and is regarded as one of Pakistan’s top leaders in the last 15 to 20 years.
