Vaibhav Suryavanshi took Avesh Khan for a huge six over covers to begin his IPL career.

A strong Indian Premier League (IPL) debut was made by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He became the 10th player to start his innings with a six on his first ball. RR and LSG’s IPL match at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium saw Suryavanshi reach the elite list.

Everyone was in awe when the youthful hitter opened his IPL career by hitting Shardul Thakur for a huge six over covers. Aiden Markram concluded his innings by getting Rishabh Pant to stump him for a powerful 34 in 20 balls, which included three sixes and two fours. He scored runs at a 170.00 strike rate. In a run-chase of 181, he and Yashasvi Jaiswal also shared an 85-run partnership.

On his debut day of the IPL, Vaibhav Suryavanshi set the following three records.Suryavanshi, who is 14 years and 23 days old, is now the youngest player to make their IPL debut since the competition began in 2008. In 2019, Prayas Ray Barman made his IPL debut aged 16 years and 157 days, a record that Suryavanshi surpassed. Royal Challengers Bengaluru included him.

Suryavanshi also made IPL history by becoming the youngest batter to hit a six. Prior to Saturday, Riyan Parag, who plays for RR, held the record. Parag was 17 years and 161 days old when he struck a six. The youngest player to hit a four in the IPL is presently Suryavanshi. This record was held by Prayas Ray Barman for six years prior to Saturday.India’s Aniket Choudhary, West Indies’ Javon Searles, India’s Siddhesh Lad, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana, Australia’s Rob Quiney, the Caribbean’s Kevon Cooper, West Indies legend Andre Russell, West Indies all-rounder Carlos Braithwaite, and India’s Sameer Rizwi are among the elite group of players who began their IPL careers with a six on the first ball. Suryavanshi has joined them.Prior to the game, LSG chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The LSG team reached 180/5 in their 20 overs thanks to half-centuries from Aiden Markram (66 in 45 balls, with five fours and three sixes), Ayush Badoni (50 in 34 balls, with five fours and a six), and a cameo from Abdul Samad (30* in 10 balls, with four sixes).
