The horrific attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday claimed the lives of 26 civilians, primarily tourists, and injured several more.

Kalyan Chaubey, the president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), called the horrific terrorist assault in Pahalgam a “senseless act of violence” and offered his sincere sympathies for the lives lost. 26 civilians, primarily tourists, were killed in Tuesday’s vicious attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, while numerous others were injured. “We offer our sincere sympathies on behalf of the entire Indian football community for the terrible deaths caused by the horrific terrorist incident in Pahalgam. Innocent lives have been lost in this senseless act of violence, shattering families and communities in the process. During this tragic time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families,” Chaubey stated, as reported by the AIFF.”Football has always been a healing, inspiring, and unifying force. We hope that the spirit of solidarity and fortitude will triumph over hate and violence during these difficult times,” he continued.

In honor of the Pahalgam terror victims, a minute’s silence was observed prior to the start of Tuesday’s Bengaluru FC vs. Inter Kashi Kalinga Super Cup 2025 round of 16 match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. In remembrance, both teams donned black armbands.Sunil Chhetri, the celebrated striker for India, had already expressed sorrow over the Pahalgam terror assault. “Saddened at the news coming out of Pahalgam,” Chhetri wrote in an Instagram story post. Words are insufficient. The families of everyone impacted by this despicable act of evil are in my thoughts.

India declared on Wednesday that the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty would be put on hold and that the integrated checkpost at Attari will be shut down immediately in an effort to send a clear message to Pakistan about its support for cross-border terrorism.
