After recently missing the West Indies tour due to a break, former India captain Virat Kohli has resumed training in anticipation of the Asia Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates from August 27 to September 11.
Along with the coach of his IPL club, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sanjay Bangar, Kohli has been practising at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s Indoor Cricket Academy at BKC over the past few days. India’s former batting coach is Bangar.
On Thursday, Kohli posted a short clip of his training session on Instagram, showing him warming up for practise in the indoor facility by sprinting between the wickets. Naturally, the video rapidly became popular online.
Due to his dismal performance recently, the great batsman has underperformed. Kohli worked out for about 90 minutes on Friday.
“I’ve previously bowled to him at BKC. Being able to bowl to one of the finest batsmen in the world is a pleasure and an honour. He had a terrific touch about him. He repeatedly wished me luck and said, “Good ball,”
The focus will firmly be on Kohli during the T20 Asia Cup, where India and Pakistan may face off three times. Kohli has been under pressure to keep his spot in the T20 team.
According to a source, “Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are also training at BKC.”
