Paul Pogba, a midfielder for France, has claimed that an organised gang has threatened and tried to extort him, and that both French and Italian officials are looking into the subject.
After his brother Mathias Pogba put a video online on Sunday, Pogba, who left English Premier League Manchester United in July and returned to Serie A club Juventus, issued a statement.
In the video, Mathias Pogba promised to deliver “big revelations” regarding his younger brother and the 2018 World Cup winner’s agent Rafaela Pimenta. He spoke in French, Spanish, English, and Italian.
In a statement that was signed by his attorneys, his mother Yeo Moriba, and his agent, Paul Pogba stated, “The relevant bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago, and there will be no additional statements in reference to the ongoing inquiry.”
According to the French prosecutor, an inquiry is currently being conducted.
Pogba, 29, hurt his knee during a Juventus training session last month. In order to be healthy enough to compete in the Qatar World Cup, which begins on November 20, he decided against having surgery and to engage in “conservative therapy.”
