Bangladesh will play a confident Afghanistan in the Asia Cup on Tuesday, looking to improve their mediocre T20 record.
In the first game, Sri Lanka’s batting was completely destroyed by Afghanistan pacers.
On the other side, Bangladesh will play the opening game of the competition. Since the World Cup last year, the Shakib Al Hasan-led team has only won two games out of 13 total games played in the shortest format.
The backbone of Sri Lanka’s batting had been destroyed by Afghanistan’s pacers Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq, and their batters had successfully chased down the 105-run goal in 10.1 overs.
Mehedy Hasan, an all-rounder for Bangladesh, stated before the game that his squad would like to address Dasun Shanaka’s allegation on the field. Afghanistan had a higher rating from Shanaka than Bangladesh.
I’m not going to say that this squad is great or that team is terrible. The field, in my opinion, proves both positive and harmful. A terrible team can triumph if they play well in a cricket match, just as a good team can lose if they perform poorly on a particular day.
