The most fifty-plus run stands in T20I cricket history have now been reached by superstar batsmen Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
The Indian starting pair reached this milestone on Sunday during the intense Super Four match against Pakistan at the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
Before Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 28 off 16 balls by Haris Rauf, the pair accumulated 54 runs in 31 balls.
They now hold the most fifty-plus stands in T20I cricket history with 14, a total of 14. Five of these stands are for 100 runs, and nine are for 50 runs.
The Irish team of Kevin O’Brien and Paul Stirling follows them with a total of 13 such partnerships, including three 100-run stands and ten fifty-run stands.
Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson of New Zealand came in second with 12 fifty-plus stands, four of which are hundred run stands.
Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan of Pakistan, who have 11 fifty-plus stands, including six hundred run runs, are in fourth position.
