Former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori believes Ravichandran Ashwin will benefit from the T20 World Cup because of his short learning curve and extensive familiarity with Australian conditions.
Spin bowlers are less effective on fast and bumpy fields in Australia, but India has players like Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel in their lineup for the ICC tournament in October-November.
As everyone is aware, Ashwin has excelled in tests. He just had a fantastic IPL season, and he is undoubtedly a member of India’s T20 team.
He’s one of those guys that can adjust well and knows what to do in every circumstance. If chosen, I believe he will be able to deliver. He has travelled to Australia on several occasions, explained the 43-year-old.
He claimed that Ashwin can be a viable candidate for the spin-bowling all-rounder position in the forthcoming T20 World Cup given the injury to Ravindra Jadeja.
