According to Australian legend Ricky Ponting, Virat Kohli could surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international centuries with his renewed passion for runs.
When Kohli scored 122 not out off 61 balls against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup earlier this month, he snapped a 1,020-day drought for his 71st international century.
“I won’t say never with Virat, though, because you know how hungry and determined he is to succeed once he gets going. I’ll never say never, that much is certain “the two-time Australian World Cup champion captain stated.
Kohli equaled Ponting’s feat of 71 tonnes during his century. Tendulkar is the only player listed above Kohli on the list of most hundreds at the moment.
The fact that he is still 30 international centuries behind may seem like a lot, but Ponting said: “I still think he has a few of years ahead of him.
