Ben Stokes, a famous all-rounder for England, was purchased by Chennai Super Kings for a staggering sum of Rs 16.25 crore on Friday at the IPL auction 2023. Ben Stokes’ bid from CSK brought him up to Chris Morris’ level and made him the joint third-most expensive player in IPL auction history. Stokes, meanwhile, outbid Deepak Chahar to become CSK’s most expensive IPL auction purchase. Other teams competing for the player included Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants, however CSK ultimately won the player.
Dhoni was “extremely satisfied” with the agreement, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said after the team acquired Ben Stokes.
“Very happy to receive (Ben) Stokes, and we were fortunate that he showed up at the very end. The Indian Express cited Kasi Viswanathan as saying, “We wanted an all-rounder and MS (Dhoni) was really glad that we got Stokes.

That was not the end, though, as Cameron Green also outperformed Morris after winning a sizable sum of Rs 17.50 from the Mumbai Indians on Friday during the auction.
