The India captain suffered the blow when he dropped a catch in the second over of the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
The left thumb of India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, was injured while trying to make a catch in the slips during the second ODI match against Bangladesh. Sharma was transported to a hospital in Dhaka for an x-ray.
When Bangladesh opener Anamul Haque edged behind in the second over, which was delivered by Mohammed Siraj, Rohit was fielding at second slip. Even though Rohit had both hands on the ball as it dipped on him, he was unable to hang on. He quickly left the pitch after the ball struck his thumb to receive medical attention and was then taken for scans. The very next delivery, Siraj’s jagged back ball that trapped Haque lbw, put him back.
