A fan broke through the security checkpoint and entered the stadium to greet MS Dhoni, who was pretending to flee from him.

Chasing a target of 232, CSK were reduced to 196/8 in 20 overs, despite half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali. MS Dhoni, the former captain, stepped out to bat at number eight and provided much-needed excitement for the audience, hitting an unbeaten 26 off 11 balls. Just like any other away game this season, there were more CSK fans in Ahmedabad cheering for Dhoni than the host team.
Even while Dhoni was feigning flight from him, a fan managed to get past the security checkpoint and onto the field to welcome him.
To touch his feat, the fan had to bow down to the former, but Dhoni gave the fan his space.
On social media, a video of Dhoni and one of his numerous fans enjoying this happy moment went viral.
ACP Digvijay Singh Rana of Ahmedabad informed reporters on Saturday that the accused student has been charged with trespassing and illegal entrance.
“A college student leaped onto the field and began racing towards the pitch during yesterday’s IPL match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. During a stoppage in the game, the accused entertained the idea of meeting Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was taken into custody by constables on the scene, according to ACP Rana.
Dhoni’s performance this season has frequently sparked discussions about whether he need to bat higher in the order.
This season, Dhoni has batted at number nine against the Punjab Kings at Dharamsala in addition to typically playing lower on the order.
To maintain their chances of making the playoffs, CSK must defeat the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
