The only way India could advance to the semifinals was if Pakistan defeated them with a lower net run rate than they did. Following their restriction of New Zealand to a pitiful 110 for six in 20 overs, Pakistan were very much in the game.
Unfortunately, Pakistan’s batting collapsed dramatically as the White Ferns won three of their four Group A games and were bowled out for 56 in just 11.4 overs.With eight points, Australia led the group; New Zealand came in second with six points.
