On Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by an easy eight wickets in their IPL 2025 encounter in Hyderabad thanks to a record-breaking innings from Abhishek Sharma. Abhishek became the Indian player with the highest individual score in IPL history after scoring 141 runs off 55 balls with 14 fours and 10 sixes. To set the new mark, he overtook KL Rahul’s 132 not out. Shreyas Iyer had earlier struck 82 off only 36 balls as PBKS amassed a huge 245 for 6. Iyer’s knock was filled with six fours and an equal number of sixes. A key factor in getting PBKS near to 250 was Marcus Stoinis’ four straight sixes to Mohammed Shami on the last four balls of the innings.Abhishek and Travis Head gave SRH a head start in the chase. Abhishek put in a long innings to help SRH win, while Head left for 66 off 37.
