Sports18 will broadcast the IPL in 16-17 languages, with the goal of making the tournament available on every mobile screen in the viewer’s preferred language.

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is quickly approaching, and viewer excitement is already building. This season, Jio-led Sports18 will broadcast the IPL in India, and according to reports, they will provide a 4K resolution telecast of the tournament.

An official announcement is expected soon. Jio also had the rights to broadcast the FIFA World Cup in India this time around. They were inspected and criticised by fans for poor handling of the telecast, as well as a slew of technical flaws. However, as the tournament progressed, the broadcasting of the World Cup improved significantly.

The IPL will be broadcast in 16 to 17 languages.

Jio is also planning to make the IPL available on every mobile screen in the language of the viewer’s choice. The platform is looking into broadcasting the tournament in 16-17 different languages, including Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Odia, among others.

“Appointment viewing” is another new feature that is being added. Instead of having to wait for the broadcaster to show the scoreboard and other graphics, this feature allows the viewer to check them whenever they want.
