The 15-player Afghanistan team has been announced for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.
Rashid Khan will captain Afghanistan’s 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the USA and the West Indies in June of this year.
In comparison to the 2022 edition, Afghanistan’s roster has undergone some changes. Karim Janat, Mohammad Ishaq, and Noor Ahmad are all named in the team.
Nevertheless, Hashmatullah Shahidi, who captained Afghanistan at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, was absent from the team; his final Twenty20 International appearance occurred in 2022.
Nangyal Kharoti, a young player who earned his debut for Afghanistan against Ireland in March of this year, is also included in the squad. In that series, the 20-year-old made an impression with five wickets at an economy of just 5.90 in three games.
Mohammad Ishaq, an Afghan wicketkeeper batter who competed in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cups in 2020 and 2022, is another young player who has secured a ticket.
With assistance from Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Nangyal Kharoti, and seasoned Mohammad Nabi, Rashid will serve as the department’s leader.
Afghanistan’s fast-bowling lineup still consists of Naveen-ul-Haq, Fareed Ahmad, and Fazalhaq Farooq.
