The new top T20I bowler in the World is Rashid Khan. Following his three wickets at less than a run per ball in Afghanistan’s historic 2-1 series victory over Pakistan in Sharjah, he has replaced Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga at the summit.

Teammate Fazalhaq Farooqi, who finished with the most wickets for Afghanistan in the Pakistan series, is next to Rashid on the podium. He is ranked third among T20I spinners. In three games, Farooqi took five wickets and gave up just 4.75 runs per over, helping him move up the standings by 12 spots.

Rashid, who first reached the top in February 2018, was in the lead as recently as November of last year. Since then, he has regularly been among the best in the format.

The 2-1 outcome marked Afghanistan’s first T20I series victory over Pakistan, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman was another bowler to advance as a result. He went from bowling at No. 10 to No. 8 after getting two wickets in the first and third games.

In place of the rested Babar Azam, Pakistan’s temporary skipper Shadab Khan rose eight places to No. 4 on the T20I all-rounder rankings after finishing the series as the third-highest run scorer and joint-fourth-highest wicket-taker.

Due to his 42 off 21 against West Indies in the series-deciding third T20I in Johannesburg, South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw rose two spots to No. 6 in the T20I batting standings.
