In the IPL 2024, Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t been playing at his best, but on Sunday he gave CSK a vital spell against SRH.

The captain of the Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad, praised star all-rounder player Ravindra Jadeja specifically, calling his ball-playing a “match-turning spell” after CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad 78 runs on Sunday in the ongoing Indian Premier League. With SRH facing extreme pressure, CSK dominated every aspect of the game in front of a sold-out crowd at Chepauk. The skilful and agile Tushar Deshpande was instrumental in their easy victory over the SRH team.

He claimed four scalps, two of which came in his opening over of the evening. In his three-over period, he finished the evening with 4/27.

Gaikwad highlighted Jadeja’s stint and said that his continued use of the ball was “match-turning” due to the rainy conditions, even if Deshpande was the team’s standout player.

“(Deshpande) bowls incredibly well. His diligence is bearing fruit. Jaddu also deserves special recognition. In the post-match presentation, Gaikwad stated, “To go for 22 runs in these wet conditions was the match-turning spell.”

The seasoned spinner conceded just 22 runs in a cost-effective four-over period while taking a vital wicket of Nitish Reddy.

After SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss, CSK was sent to bat. Despite missing out on a chance to reach his second century in the current season, Gaikwad praised his team’s overall effort.
“I’m feeling fairly fine. Playing in such damp conditions is difficult, and winning by about 70 runs is a masterful effort. was, at the toss, a disguised benediction. Not giving a hundred a second thought. I wanted to make sure we reached about 220-ish. I was upset with myself for missing four or five back-end hits. I was upset because I thought it might make a difference during the innings break. But happily, it was sufficient.

We made a few mistakes in the last game. Occasionally a few stray balls,” Gaikwad remarked.

“We performed incredibly well in the field today. adhered to the schedule and was aware of the requirements. You always want the additional 20 runs when it comes to the impact player rule. Never be aware of the par score. Not obtaining wickets in the powerplay was one area. The only way it can make the opposition uneasy is in that manner, Gaikwad continued.

Recalling the game, SRH put CSK in to bat, and CSK won with 212/3 with to heroics from Gaikwad (98) and Daryl Mitchell (52) and a cameo from Shivam Dube (39*).

SRH, in response, found it difficult to form partnerships and bundled out on 134.
