Rohit becomes the first Indian skipper to score a century in each of the game’s formats.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored his ninth Test century against Australia in the Test series opener in Nagpur, becoming the first Indian captain to score a century in all three formats of the game. The Indian opener looked imperious from the start and has been largely untroubled on a difficult pitch to bat on.
In the second innings, the Indian captain has led from the front, keeping the Australian bowlers at bay on a difficult surface. On Day 1, he began his innings with a flurry of boundaries against his Australian counterpart and has not looked back since. During the third session of the first day of the Nagpur Test, Rohit scored a quick half-century.
After the Aussies were dismissed for a low total in their first innings, his partnership with KL Rahul ensured a solid start. KL Rahul, on the other hand, left at the tail end of the day to give the Aussies some breathing room. His opening partner, on the other hand, stood tall and continued in the same vein on the second day.
