SunRisers Hyderabad thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by a 10-wicket margin in an IPL 2024 game at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. SRH first bowled with discipline to reduce the KL Rahul-led side to 165 for 4 in 20 overs before Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma demolished the score. Head scored 89 not out off 30 balls, while Abhishek blasted an unbeaten 75 off 28 as SRH won in 9.4 overs without losing a wicket. “Everything appeared to hit the middle of the bat. Bravo to their abilities. They have worked hard on their six-hitting abilities. They did not give us the opportunity to see how the pitch performed in the second innings.
“It was difficult to stop them as they teed off from ball one. When you lose, the decisions you make become questionable. We fell 40-50 runs short. We were unable to gain momentum after losing wickets in the powerplay. Ayush (Badoni) and Nicky (Nicholas Pooran) batted brilliantly, helping us reach 166. But even if we had gotten 240, they could have gone after it as well.”
