The victory was hailed as one of the best victories of the season by Moeen Ali, who also praised the youngsters’ outstanding effort.
Moeen Ali, a star all-rounder for the Chennai Super Kings, spoke with Mike Hussy, the team’s batting coach, after the game to discuss his overall impressions of the contest. At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Chennai Super Kings played the Delhi Capitals, defeating DC by a score of 27 runs.
When Mike Hussy asked Moeen about the players’ performance and the significance of CSK’s win over Delhi Capitals, Moeen Ali rated the boys’ performance fantastic and the win one of the greatest of the season. “It was brilliant, probably one of the best wins of the season because the wicket was a little tricky before we got a competitive score and then to defend that, it was brilliant.”
The batting coach then inquired about the target that CSK set for the Delhi Capitals and what motivates us (CSK) to achieve that amount.
“I think we had a good start and then we lost a couple of wickets which dragged it back for them,” Moeen responded, “but then Shivam Dube’s three sixes were the turning point and MS at the end with those sixes gave us bare momentum and gave us a score that we were looking for 160-170.”
Coach Hussey also questioned Moeen on the DC’s early dismissals of the top order, and Moeen offered his thoughts and commended Tushar Deshpande, calling it amazing and naming Deepak and the spinners who helped CSK choke the runs of the Delhi Capitals.
Moeen also discussed his bowling plan, as he only allowed 19 runs in four overs.
“I was just trying to spin the bowl as much as I could, and the length was very important,” he explained. My game was really straightforward; I just tried to hold the length and spin as hard as I could.
