Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, selected the player in the Diamond category of the PSL 10 Draft.
All-rounder Corbin Bosch of South Africa has been banned from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for a year by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Bosch made the announcement on Thursday after unilaterally terminating Zalmi’s contract with Peshawar to become a substitute player for the Mumbai Indians of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the PSL 10 Draft, which was held in Lahore on January 13 of this year, Bosch, 30, was selected in the Diamond category by the Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam. The all-rounder, however, decided to abandon his PSL commitment in favor of joining the Mumbai Indians, taking the place of South African bowler Lizaad Williams, who was injured.
Bosch will not be eligible for selection in the PSL next year, the PCB said in an official statement, which also confirmed the ban. The board made clear how important it believes player dedication and professionalism are, especially for those who sign contracts with PSL teams.
In a statement made public by the PCB, Bosch apologized for the penalties.”I sincerely apologize to the people of Pakistan, Peshawar Zalmi supporters, and the cricket community at large for my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).”
“I completely realize the disappointment my actions have caused, as the HBL PSL is a famous tournament. I sincerely apologize to Peshawar Zalmi’s devoted supporters for disappointing them. “I accept the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the HBL PSL as well as full responsibility for my actions.” Although this has been a difficult lesson, Bosch is determined to grow from it and hopes to rejoin the HBL PSL in the future with fresh zeal and the support of the supporters. In a statement released by PCB, Bosch stated, “This has been a difficult lesson, but I am determined to learn from it and hope to return to the HBL PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans.”
The South African has played one Test and two ODIs for South Africa after making his debut for the national team in an ODI against Pakistan in Johannesburg in December 2024. Bosch has been making headlines in franchise cricket, but his international career is still in its early phases.
Bosch played a significant role in MI Cape Town’s victorious SA20 2025 campaign, as Rashid Khan’s team won the championship thanks in large part to his all-around performances.
