Following allegations in the media that Shaheen Afridi “misbehaved” with head coach Gary Kirsten and other coaching staff during the England tour and the T20 World Cup 2024, Afridi found himself facing criticism.

Shaheen Afridi, the fast bowler for Pakistan, made news when it was alleged in the media that he had “misbehaved” with head coach Gary Kirsten and other coaching staff during the England trip and the 2024 T20 World Cup. According to the claims, the supervisors who were with the team knew what was going on, but they did nothing to discipline the pacer. Shaheen posted a mysterious remark on social media, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remained silent on the subject. His caption read “Rise Above” and he uploaded a video of himself bowling in the nets.

Shaheen had earlier been charged with misbehavior in a number of Pakistani media stories.
“Shaheen misbehaved with the coaches and management during recent tours but no action was taken by the team managers on the pacer’s inappropriate behaviour,” sources stated to Geo News.
“Maintaining discipline in the team was the responsibility of the managers which is why it is being investigated why action was not taken against Shaheen despite misbehaving,” according to the report.
PCB, meanwhile, declared that they had informed Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq that their participation in the national selection committee would no longer be needed.Wahab was a men’s team selector, and Razzaq served on the committees for both the men’s and women’s teams. Along with team manager Rana Mansoor, Wahab was demoted from his role as senior team manager due to a lack of discipline.
Six of the PCB’s best selectors over the past four years have had short tenures: Wahab, Mohammad Wasim, Shahid Afridi, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Haroon Rashid, and Misbah-ul-Haq.

Geo News was tipped off by sources that Wahab and Mansoor were giving some players unfair advantages. The players who did not perform were the ones that were included in the team and received backing from the duo.
