Ankita will face Thailand’s Thasaporn Naklo in the pre-quarterfinals.
Shrivalli Bhamidipaty, the tournament champion from Solapur last week, defeated Thailand’s Bunyawi Thamchaiwat, the runner-up, 6-4, 6-2 in the opening round.
In the second round, Shrivalli will face Zuzanna Pawlikowska of Poland, a qualifier.
