On Wednesday, young Indian shuttler Anmol Kharb defeated countrymate Malvika Bansod to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the Kazakhstan International Challenge.
Anmol, a 17-year-old who won gold at the Badminton Asia Team Championships and is currently the national champion, defeated Malvika 21-13, 22-20 in 59 minutes.

Anmol advanced to the main draw by defeating Malaysia’s Cassey Rynn Rompog 21-19, 21-9 after defeating Kazakhstan’s Kamila Smagulova in the two qualifying rounds.
Anupama Upadhyaya defeated qualifier Harshitaa Rout 21-13, 21-13, while Tanya Hemanth defeated qualifier Aishani Tiwari 21-19, 21-10 in the other women’s singles pre-quarterfinal match.
While qualifier Aneri Kotak defeated Poland’s Wiktoria Dabczyska with ease, Keyura Mopati defeated Vanessa Maricela Garcia of Mexico with a score of 21-18, 21-13.
Dhanraj Srivatsa and Maneesha K of India defeated Makhsut Tajibullayev and Romualda Batyrova of Kazakhstan 21-5, 21-12 in the mixed doubles pre-quarterfinals, while Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani triumphed over Biloliddin Kuchkarboev and Diana Garamova of Uzbekistan 21-16, 21-11.In mixed doubles, Abhyuday Chauchary and Vaishnavi Khadkekar crushed Kazakhstan’s Arnur Tapishev and Alissa Kuleshova 21-5, 21-9, while Ayush Raj Gupta and Sruti Swain defeated Kazakhstan’s Otabek Kamilov and Amaliya Ormanova 21-11, 21-11.
