Anshul Kamboj, a bowler for Haryana, took all ten wickets in one innings against Kerala on Friday in their Ranji Trophy 2024–25 round five encounter in Rohtak. Anshul Kamboj thoroughly destroyed Kerala’s top order on Day 3 of the fifth-round Ranji Trophy match in Lahli. Before tea, he got rid of all four of Kerala’s half-centurions, making it to 50 First-Class wickets in just his 19th match.Kamboj became just the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to accomplish this feat with his amazing 10/49 stats. Premangshu Chatterjee (10/20) of Bengal and Pradeep Sundaram (10/78) of Rajasthan are the other two bowlers. Joginder Sharma previously held the record for most innings taken by a bowler from Haryana, with eight wickets against Vidarbha during the 2004–05 season.Kamboj had taken eight wickets by stumps the day before. On the first morning over, he dismissed Basil Thampi for his ninth wicket, followed by Shoun Roger, securing his tenth wicket and bowling Kerala out for 291. Kamboj’s ultimate results were an astounding 30.1-9-49-10.Kamboj became only the sixth Indian to take a 10-wicket haul in First-Class cricket, alongside leg-spinning stalwarts such as Anil Kumble, Subhash Gupte, and Debasis Mohanty.
Kamboj, who had just represented India A in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup in Oman, starred in the Duleep Trophy as well, taking eight wickets and became only the third bowler to do so.Following an excellent domestic season, Kamboj was signed by the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024, where he played three games and grabbed two wickets. He also played an important role in Haryana’s Vijay Hazare Trophy victory, grabbing 17 wickets in 10 matches.
