On Saturday night, Royal Challengers Bengaluru triumphed like a phoenix and secured a postseason berth. In a game that lasted into midnight, RCB defeated the reigning champs by remaining composed. In the Indian Premier League on Saturday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru upset Chennai Super Kings, the reigning champions, by a margin of 27 runs to claim the fourth and final play-off position. The teams that had previously qualified for the play-offs were Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata Knight Riders. When put to bat, RCB defeated CSK with a formidable 218 for five in their crucial victory.

At the end of the third over, rain briefly stopped play. Skipper Faf du Plessis (54) and Virat Kohli (47) exchanged 78 runs for the opening stand in 9.4 overs.

To keep the pace going, Rajat Patidar, batting at number three, struck 41 off 23 balls and combined with Cameron Green (38 not out off 17) for 71 runs for the second wicket.

In the last moments, RCB was lifted by brief cameos from Glenn Maxwell (16 off 5) and Dinesh Karthik (14 off 6).

CSK could only manage 191 for 7, falling short of their required 201 runs to make the playoffs due to a better run rate even in the event of a loss.

Rachin Ravindra struck 61 off 37 balls, Ajinkya Rahane made 33 and Ravindra Jadeja made 42 not out.

The famous Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who may have played his final IPL encounter, made a cameo of 25 runs off of 13 balls towards the conclusion of the game. It was insufficient, though. After maintaining composure in the final over, Yash Dayal returned with 2/42 for the Royals.

Both Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma started crying after the victory.
