Anushka Sharma’s response to her husband Virat Kohli surviving a run-out on the opening ball of his innings went viral on social media.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Gujarat Titans, the runners-up from the previous season, handily in their third straight Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match. While chasing the target of 148 runs, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis provided the team a 92-run stand for the first wicket. However, RCB had a dramatic middle-order collapse to go from 92/0 to 117/6. While Swapnil Singh and Dinesh Karthik added the final touches, Virat kept the team in the game. However, had Virat not survived a run-out on the opening ball of his innings, the chase might not have been feasible.

During his time in the crease, Virat also experienced a major scare in which he nearly lost the game. The star of the Gujarat Titans, David Miller, made a great stop and threw the ball in the direction of the goalkeeper. When the ball passed the stumps, Kohli was out of the frame and without his bat.

Had the throw struck the stumps, Virat might have been out on the opening ball of his innings. While responding to the situation, his wife Anushka Sharma, who was watching the game in the stands, was photographed by the press.

Even though RCB won the game handily and had plenty of overs remaining, captain Faf du Plessis acknowledged that he was anxious since his team had lost a lot of wickets in the midst of the game.
“Both with the bat and the ball, we’ve been pretty strong the past few games. In the field, too, we’ve been amazing. There was a little bit more bounce and a slight variation on the wicket. I wanted to make sure the bowlers received that information from the pitch. “Yeah, there was a dropped catch, but overall, that’s what we look for—the effort,” Du Plessis stated during the post-game press conference.Everything between 180 and 190 would have been considered normal in the high-scoring games we’ve played here. It was crucial that we tried to play the way we play and avoided looking at the scoreboard when we went to bat. Was a little uneasy. Not the greatest evaluation we could have given it there. Yes, we wanted to get out there and get the total as soon as possible to increase the NRR, but we definitely needed to cool down a little bit when we were 4 down,” he continued.
