If Rohit Sharma is unable to recuperate in time to participate in the Test series against Bangladesh that begins on December 14, KL Rahul may take over as captain of India.

As the 35-year-old faces a race against time to be ready for the two-match Test series that starts on December 14, Team India captain Rohit Sharma’s participation in the Test series against Bangladesh remains uncertain. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong will host the first Test match between India and Bangladesh from December 14–18.

On Wednesday at Mirpur, Rohit suffered an injury while participating in the second ODI. The Indian skipper’s left thumb seemed bleeding, and he appeared to have hurt himself while attempting to take a catch.

After that, KL Rahul was appointed captain while Rohit was brought to the hospital for scans on his hand. Should Rohit not recuperate in time for the Men in Blue game, the 29-year-old will be the captain.
