India defeated Australia to take the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings after winning a 4-1 series against England.
India mounted a valiant comeback to win the next four Test matches against England, having lost the opening Test in Hyderabad by just 28 runs. The team has regained its top spot in the ICC Test Team Rankings thanks to victories in Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and now Dharamsala.
Their unwavering performance throughout the series has enabled them to pass Australia. As of right now, the team has 122 rating points in the standings. With 117 rating points, Australia is ranked second, and England comes in third with 111 rating points.
Regardless of how the second Test match between Australia and New Zealand in Christchurch turns out, India will continue to be ranked #1. Australia, the 2023 ICC World Test Championship winners, won the first Test match by 172 runs in Wellington, and are now leading the two-match series 1-0.
India is currently the top-ranked country in all three formats as a result of this. In the ODI rankings, they have 121 rating points, and Australia is right behind them with 118 rating points. India leads England (256) in the Twenty20 Internationals with 266 rating points.
