In their opening game of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup, Team India will face their bitter rivals Pakistan. On August 15, the much-anticipated match’s tickets will also go on sale (Monday). The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) recently shared the information via a tweet.

On August 27, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are scheduled to play each other in the opening match of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are well-known cricketing nations who have already qualified for the event. The qualifier will be played in Oman amongst the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

The Men in Green are currently getting ready for their upcoming ODI series against the Netherlands. Similar to that, the Men in Blue will shortly be in action against Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series. Both veteran hitter KL Rahul and well-known all-arounder Deepak Chahar have recently rejoined the Indian team.

More specifically, the Asia Cup was originally scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka this year, but due to the island nation’s present economic predicament and the lack of food and gasoline, the organising committee chose to move the competition to the United Arab Emirates. The ACC stated in a statement that it had unanimously decided it would be prudent to move the tournament from Sri Lanka to the UAE “considering the current circumstances in Sri Lanka.”

The forthcoming competition will be a chance for all the Asian countries to sharpen their skills and get ready for the 2022 T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia later this year.
