Jay Shah currently serves as the president of the Asian Cricket Council. Shah also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Wednesday (January 31) and Thursday (February 1), and many matters will be discussed, including the hosts of the next Asia Cup and the distribution of media rights.

The AGM is scheduled to take place in Bali, Indonesia, and will be presided over by ACC President Jay Shah, who also serves as the current secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

One of the most important issues to be debated is the probable host and structure of the next Asia Cup. The previous edition, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan, was contested in the 50-over format due to the event preceding the 50-over World Cup.

The next edition could be played in the T20 format and hosted in an associate nation, with the UAE and Oman being prospective destinations.

Because of the disagreement between the BCCI and the PCB, the hybrid model came to fruition. The tournament was originally scheduled to be contested in Pakistan, but the BCCI was unable to send its players because to security concerns and political tensions between the two countries.

Pakistan ultimately hosted only three Group stage games. Pakistan and Nepal played the curtain raiser at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. The other two games of the Pakistan portion of the tournament were held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, between Bangladesh and Afghanistan and Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The AGM may also result in a decision regarding media rights. A new player may emerge, as multiple competitors vie for the rights to the ACC events. With the Men’s Asia Cup seen as the most valuable asset up for grabs, the bidding war could be as heated as it gets.
