According to Arindam Bagchi, “China’s action violates both the spirit of the Asian Games and the rules governing their conduct, which expressly forbid discrimination against competitors from member states.”

The Indian Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, has postponed his planned trip to China in protest. This was in retaliation to China, which will host the Asian Games in 2023, forbidding wushu competitors from the state of Arunachal Pradesh from entering the country.

“A strong protest has been made against China’s purposeful and selective blockage of some of our athletes in New Delhi and Beijing. The Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, stated that China’s decision “violates both the spirit of the Asian Games and the rules governing its conduct, which expressly prohibits discrimination against participants from member states.

On Saturday, the Asian Games’ Opening Ceremony will take place. The competitions will last through October 8.Bagchi charged China with targeting and planning its discrimination against a select group of Indian athletes.”The Government of India has learned that the Chinese authorities discriminated against certain of the Indian athletes from the state of Arunachal Pradesh by denying them access and accreditation to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in a targeted and premeditated way.India vehemently rejects treating Indian residents differently based on their place of residence or ethnicity, in keeping with our long-standing and unwavering stance. He highlighted that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and always will be an essential and inalienable part of India before saying, “Government of India reserves the right to take appropriate actions to preserve our interests.

The Asian Games, which were delayed by a year and are now being staged in China, will be adversely affected by the developments.
