In order to win the gold medal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar shot 463.5 in the final.
At the Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, Korea on Wednesday, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar helped India win a silver medal as a team and took home the gold in the men’s 50m rifle three positions individual event.
Tomar, 22, won the gold medal with a final score of 463.5. Tian Jiaming of China won the silver medal with a 462.7. Du Linshu, a Chinese competitor, took home the bronze with 450.3.
With 591, Tomar had placed fifth in the qualification round.
With a total score of 1764, the Indian team consisting of Tomar, Swapnil Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran came in second to China (1777) in winning the team silver.
With Kusale and Sheoran, India has already secured the maximum two Olympic quota spots for this competition.
In the previous year’s World Championships in Cairo, Kusale had secured the Paris Games quota. Sheoran performed the same in Baku during this year’s World Championships.
