In anticipation of the pivotal second Test in Adelaide, Canberra has organized additional match practice.

India will play an extra match on their tour of Australia at the end of the year, with the confirmation of a two-day pink-ball encounter against a Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra.

The event will be hosted at Manuka Oval in the nation’s capital on November 30 and December 1, sandwiching the first and second Tests of Australia’s much anticipated Border-Gavaskar series.

The day-night encounter will provide India with some match experience against the pink ball and under lights ahead of the series’ second Test in Adelaide, which will be played under the same conditions.

Australia defeated India by eight wickets in the only previous day-night Test between the two countries during the 2020 series, and the game at Adelaide Oval will be the second time the sides have utilized the pink ball.

For the first time in more than 30 years, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be contested across five Tests, with the series also being essential for both sides as they seek a spot in next year’s ICC World Test Championship Final.
Australia won their first World Test Championship title last year, defeating India by 209 runs at The Oval, and will try to defend it when the one-off Test returns to Lord’s in 2025.

India presently holds a slim lead at the top of the World Test Championship standings, with Australia in second.

Australia v India Test schedule:

First Test: November 22-26, Perth
Second Test: December 6-10, Adelaide (d/n)
Third Test: December 14-18, Brisbane
Fourth Test: December 26-30, Melbourne
Fifth Test: January 3-7, Sydney
