This information was made public by Cricket Australia on Friday before the commencement of the fourth test match between the teams of Australia and India at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Cricket Australia has also declared that the Australian players will wear “black armbands” in honor of Pat Cummins and his family.
Maria Cummins mother passed away overnight, and Cricket Australia stated that it was “deeply saddened” by the news. Following the second test of the series, Cummins had taken a flight back home to be with his mother. He stated, “I feel I am best being here with my family,” in describing his choice to leave India.
