Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula of the United States, Jannik Sinner of Italy, and Emma Raducanu of the United Kingdom all got off to a perfect start at the Australian Open on Monday.
On Monday, American stars Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, as well as Italy’s Jannik Sinner, had a perfect start to their campaigns at the Australian Open 2023.
Gauff, the seventh seed, defeated Czech Republic’s Katerina Siniakova 6-1, 6-4 at Rod Laver Arena to advance to the second round.
Gauff, who is competing in her fourth Australian Open, won the first set in 22 minutes. After winning the longest rally of the match -22 strokes – Siniakova challenged Gauff in the second set and broke Gauff to lead 4-2.
